The darkness
fell down quickly within the cool autumn air as if it were one of the vibrantly
colored leaves that were so quickly fading, drifting downwards, and beginning to
dress the ground in a warm cloak of leaves, the earth’s vanguard against the cold
winter months that were soon to follow. Darkness swept the details of daylight
away; objects folded into the night revealing the bare face of darkness.
Quietness pervaded the atmosphere leaving the streets vacant and entirely
lonely except for the singular sound the steps of just one man made. His long
legs took short steps that moved in a noticeably fatigued motion that bleakly
grated against the sidewalk.
Where should it go from here? Any suggestions?
